So a couple of years ago I signed up on Substack because creating my own newsletter was the only way I could figure out how to subscribe to my friends who were doing it for real. I had no plans to actually use it for anything else. Maybe I could drop some family pictures in every now and then, I dunno.
I never did, because, you know, the last couple of years have been busy. Thankfully so — I’m lucky to be so busy. There was a minute there when I thought Twitter was actually going to implode and this might be a place to do that kind of chatting (and, yes, self-promotion), but I’m still hanging on over there.
And then
, with his gazillion subscribers (and if you aren’t one, you need to make it a gazillion and 1), recommended my basically non-existent newsletter, so I feel like I had to say something here. So, hello. I’ll try to post every now and then, when I’ve got something offbeat or goofy or, who knows, serious, to say. If you want to know what I do, you can read my work at The Arizona Republic and azcentral. Please do, in fact. I’ll leave you with a little photographic weirdness.
